Homosassa, Wineries and Biking

We headed toward Homosassa Springs yesterday planning to check out Pine Knoll Winery on the way. We found the building it is for sale and closed. So we travel onward toward Homosassa and see this smoke we finally decide they must be burning off the sugar cane fields as there is a sugar mill in the area.
We stopped at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park Visitors Center and saw this alligator coming after a couple of kids but grandma jumped in and stopped the gator.
We drove down the rode and stopped at this old Sugar Mill ruins and then a little way down the road we ran into this fish market. We purchased #2 of stone crab claws, a pound of Chilean sea bass and a pint of oysters. We had the sea bass in parchment paper last night it was delicious. I had a couple of raw oysters for an appetizer. They were wonderful.

Linda always thinks I belong in places like this.

After the fish market we saw a sign for Bluebird Springs so we had to check it out.
Today Friday we headed out for another winery and biking on the General James A. Van Fleet Trail. On the way out the door Linda says maybe we should bring another set of batteries for the camera. I said no we won't need them. I hate it when she is right. Below is our photo for the day.
It is a great trail flat and level. We road about 11 miles out and then turned around. We saw a couple of armadillos on the trail and Linda swears one was chasing her down the trail. After the ride we were successful in finding Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards where we went on the tour and tasted several of their wines. They were very good for Florida wines. www.lakeridgewinery.com

We had the stone crab claws tonight and then stopped at the hall to listen to the jam session for a while. It was pretty bad except for the old lady that whistled and she was amazing.
