Lobster Fishing

Our days off this week were a mixed bag...Sunday was a bit overcast and we didn't do too much exciting.  Linda did a load of laundry and I gathered about 10 pounds of mussels and spent hours cleaning them.

I went and gathered a few mussels

Monday was a great Maine day clear skies and warm.  We started the day with a lobster boat cruise and in the afternoon we headed over to the Great Long Pond and kayaked for 2 1/2 hours.  On the way to the morning cruise, we passed several people helping a guy laying on the road who evidently had crashed on his bike, a little way down the road we met the fire and rescue ambulance. After the cruise, there were still two bikes standing against the guard rail at where he had been lying.  On our way to Great Long Pond, we took a side trip to the cliffs beach area and as we got to the parking area, they were loading someone in the ambulance there too.  Our guess is that someone was injured on the trail.

What did we Catch?

Hot Babe Holding A big One
We caught a pregnant lobster, the black on her tail is eggs.  All lobsters with eggs must go back into the sea.

After emptying 5 or so traps we took a lap around Egg Rock Island
Where we saw Bald Eagles
And seals

The water is so clear, Linda swears she saw great white whale ass in the water here.
