Good-bye to Maine

Our last week at Mt. Desert Narrows Campground flew by even though we had to work six  days in a row.  We finished up on Sunday September 4th, my 62nd birthday. Monday we did some laundry and finished packing in preparation for our departure on Tuesday.
Workcamper friends, Bob, Barb, Dave, and Renee waiting for the
good-bye - birthday party to start.

One last trip to say good-bye to our friends at Atlantic brewing
and purchase a few for the road.  Thanks guys, we felt welcome every visit
( there were many) and always enjoyed the beer. (hey it was free).

And then it was three days of driving in the rain back to Southern Illinois. We saw the Susquehanna River out of its banks and heard that they had a mandatory evacuation the next day

We sat in this traffic jam for over an hour  Wed. evening.  We heard the problem was a big rig tanker that went off a bridge at 4am that morning and burned.  The bridge still may not be open.

We made it to Sam Parr State Park Thursday evening and set up camp. We went in to Olney on Friday morning and had coffee with Dad's coffee group. Dad and Betty came out for lunch and then it was back to the VFW for taco night.
