Lake Havasu City

We have moved on and here is the parking lot/campground where we are staying in Lake Havasu City. It is not too pretty but the price is right and we have full hookups and need to do laundry.
They also have a pool and hot tub. This is the sign on the fence next to the hot tub. In case you can't read it, Rule No. 4 says, "If incontinent, wear a tight fitting rubber or plastic diaper" I guess that is how you know you are in a retirement community. This is Lake Havasu and the water that runs under the London Bridge. Here we are on the London Bridge.
On the way to the Desert/Solar Bar. It was 5 miles of dirt road. The bar is only open on weekends and is totally powered by the sun. They have bands, a limited menu and drinks. Perfect. It was an old copper mine and there is lots of copper ore laying around.
It is hard to do justice to the landscape that you see driving around out here with a picture. These pictures were taken on our way to Oatman, AZ. It is an old gold mining town on old route 66. When the mines stopped producing, the miners turned there pack burros loose and now the town is over run with wild donkeys. Not really too wild. The little sign on this donkey's forehead is a picture of a carrot with a line thru it. The babies can choke on carrots and the locals don't want you feeding them.

As you can see there was a gun fight while we were here. The sheriff got shot.
And the sun sets on another Arizona day and we move on to our next adventure. Next stop Las Vegas and Lake Mead to visit our niece.
