Over The Hump to Pahrump

We made it over the hump from Las Vegas to Pahrump. We are staying 3 nights at Terrible's Casino and RV park. The info we have on Pahrump says they got electricity here in 1963 and telephones in 1965. There are 3 small casinos here and we have joined the player clubs at all of them. So far our pay offs have been two 1lb New York steak dinners for $10 and two full rack of rib dinners for $10 and we have found that you get free drinks if you sit at the bar and play the $.01 poker machine. Although we usually play $.25 a hand.

Above is the view out of out back window. Below is a picture that I took on our way back from the date farm.

We took a ride over to the China Ranch a working date farm. We had date milkshakes at the store/gift shop.

Below is a sign over the door that says this is a "Modest Museum."

Bunches of dates wearing shirts.
I am not sure how long this maker has been here but that Bell symbol was no longer used when I started work in 1969.

The road out of the canyon.
No stop is complete without a trip to the local winery.
Pictures of Death Valley coming soon.
