This is where were we are headed. This picture was taken shortly after entering the wilderness.
Trail flattens out from time to time to give you a chance to rest before beginning another steep climb. Here we are taking a break half way to the top of the world.
It doesn't seem to be getting much closer.
We ran into this is a gnarly old tree just before reaching the saddle. The saddle is the point on top of the mountain where you could cross over to the other side with out going any higher It is a mile from the saddle to the peak.
Can you make out the trail below?
Pictures from the peak.
Coming down is not as easy as you would think. By the time we got to the bottom we were not sure we would be able to get out of bed today. Our legs were like rubber and felt like they weighed a ton. We still managed to make it to the brewery for dinner and a couple of brews even though we had to park a block away.
